Fit Food Cuisine is a growing healthy meal prep company located in the heart of Willow Glen. We are not a traditional restaurant with a hot line or dinner service. Instead, we operate a fast-paced production kitchen focused on preparing fresh, high-quality meals for retail, meal plans, and online orders. We are looking for an experienced Chef/Kitchen Manager who thrives in an organized production environment and enjoys leading a team.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chef/Kitchen Manager to oversee our daily kitchen operations. This is a leadership position responsible for managing kitchen staff, maintaining production schedules, ensuring food quality, and keeping inventory organized so our front-of-house team always has products available to sell.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader, highly organized, works well under pressure, communicates effectively in both English and Spanish, and takes pride in building a positive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the production kitchen.
- Manage, coach, and motivate kitchen staff while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
- Assign daily production tasks and ensure they are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinate production with the front-of-house team to maintain proper inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory and communicate production needs to prevent items from selling out.
- Train new employees on recipes, food safety, kitchen procedures, and company standards.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
- Monitor labor efficiency and help improve kitchen productivity.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory counts, and minimizing food waste.
- Create an organized, clean, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Solve problems quickly while maintaining a calm and professional attitude.
- Lead by example and be willing to work alongside the team during busy production periods.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or similar leadership role.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience managing production schedules and multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of inventory management and food cost control.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
