Medical Assistant – Pediatric Office
We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and dependable Medical Assistant/LPN to join our busy pediatric team. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with children and families, has a strong work ethic, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Pediatric experience is a plus, but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and prepare patients for their visit with the provider
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Administer immunizations and other medications as directed
- Assist providers with minor office procedures
- Perform patient screenings and collect specimens as needed
- Provide patient and parent education regarding treatments, medications, and immunizations
- Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with coordinating patient care
- Process and track specialty referrals
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient visits
- Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
- Work collaboratively with providers and team members to deliver exceptional patient care
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required or Illinois licensed LPN
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working with infants, children, adolescents, and their families
