Position Summary
Sea Grill Restaurant & Bar is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and hospitality-driven Hospitality Manager / Event Coordinator to join our leadership team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while growing and managing our private events business.
The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced fine dining environment, and understands that outstanding events begin long before guests arrive. This position combines event sales, event execution, daily restaurant leadership, guest relations, and administrative responsibilities.
The Hospitality Manager / Event Coordinator is expected to lead by example, think like an owner, coach employees daily, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and service.
Primary ResponsibilitiesEvent Sales & Business Development
- Respond to all event inquiries within 24 hours.
- Generate new business through networking, community outreach, and cold calling.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, hotels, wedding planners, concierges, and local organizations.
- Increase private dining and large-party revenue through proactive sales efforts.
- Follow up on all event leads in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and repeat business opportunities.
Event Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all events you book.
- Coordinate event details with the Executive Chef and management team.
- Prepare banquet event orders, room layouts, timelines, and event worksheets.
- Confirm menus, guest counts, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
- Schedule event staff and communicate assignments in advance whenever possible.
- Attend events you book to ensure flawless execution and guest satisfaction.
- Follow up with clients after events to encourage repeat business.
Hospitality Leadership
- Lead from the dining room rather than the office.
- Touch every table and build relationships with guests.
- Engage parties of four or more regarding future private events.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout every shift.
- Support all front-of-house operations as business demands.
Employee Development
- Coordinate onboarding for new employees.
- Assist with orientation and training.
- Coach employees daily to improve service standards.
- Reinforce company policies and leadership expectations.
- Communicate performance concerns to senior leadership before formal disciplinary action is taken.
- Help create a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain organized personnel files and office records.
- Scan and file invoices weekly.
- Keep event files current and complete.
- Complete large-party worksheets and gratuity documentation accurately.
- Ensure event information is communicated to every department.
- Assist with payroll documentation as needed.
Operations
- Work a minimum of five full days per week.
- Close the restaurant on most scheduled evenings.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly.
- Verify the restaurant is secure before leaving each night.
- Maintain communication with the management team regarding operational issues.
- Respond to management calls and messages in a timely manner, including days off when operationally necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of restaurant management, event coordination, or hospitality leadership experience.
- Experience in upscale or fine dining preferred.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Strong sales, relationship-building, and customer service abilities.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and POS systems.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Private dining or banquet sales experience.
- Experience with wedding, corporate, and social events.
- Knowledge of wine, cocktails, and fine dining service.
- Experience with reservation and event management platforms.
- Marketing or social media experience is a plus.
