Position Summary:
This is a full-time entry-level position with on-call hours as necessary. The successful candidate will provide a variety of services to aircrafts such as marshaling, towing, fueling, changing lavatory fluids, replenishing ice, water and papers. This position also entails providing maintenance to large and small equipment, facilities and ground using a variety of basic manual labor skills which include but are not limited to, mowing grass and snow removal. This position will also require familiarization and certifications as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) within the airport’s certification manual (ACM) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Part 139 certification. The successful candidate will possess a friendly and outgoing personality and have experience working outdoors with heavy equipment, experience providing quality customer service, the ability to work flexible hours as needed and the desire to work in an aviation setting.
Pay Grade: 105
Experience: One or more years of experience in general maintenance, repair, or custodial work. Required Education/ Training: High School Diploma (or GED Equivalent). One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in general maintenance, repair or custodial work. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Class C driver’s license. Basic knowledge of aircraft engines and fuel types. Must have excellent customer service knowledge and excellent people skills. Must have a full working knowledge of F.A.A. safety and fire regulations within ninety (90) days of employment. Must be able to complete the established Line Technician Training Program provided by a fueling company within thirty (30) days of employment.
Working Environment: Considerable exposure to extreme cold, heat, noise, working outdoors, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical, and electrical hazards. Availability for emergency call. Physical Activities: Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for significant physical activity such as standing, walking, running, kneeling, crouching/stooping/squatting, crawling, twisting upper body, climbing, and lifting an average of 60 lbs.
