Job Overview
The Town of Gray is seeking a reliable, motivated individual to join our Public Works team in a full-time Light Equipment Operator / Truck Driver / Laborer role. This position performs a variety of essential public works functions, including operating equipment, maintaining infrastructure, and supporting seasonal operations such as snow removal.
What You’ll Do
- Operate light to medium-duty equipment, including trucks, backhoes, front-end loaders, and street sweepers
- Perform road maintenance, snow and ice control, and other seasonal public works duties
- Assist with general labor tasks including repairs, cleaning, and maintenance of Town property and infrastructure
- Respond to emergencies and work outside normal hours as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Maine Class B Commercial Driver’s License (minimum requirement) without restrictions that would prevent operation of manual-transmission Class B vehicles
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to work in varying weather and terrain conditions
- Willingness to work outside normal work hours
- Ability to pass a background check, federal drug and alcohol test, and may require a physical agility or general physical exam

Benefits:
This full-time position works 40 hours per week and is paid $26.66 per hour.
