Duties
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, chopping, cooking, and portioning according to recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and sanitation practices are followed
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and ensure timely delivery of orders
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary services, food preparation, or a related food industry role is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department operations and menu planning is advantageous
- Strong skills and slicing techniques with a focus on safety and precision
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Experience working in restaurants or catering settings demonstrating excellent food handling skills
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and ensuring smooth workflow
