Civil Project Engineer (PE)
Location: Houston, TX
Position Overview
We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with 5+ years of civil engineering experience to join our growing Houston team. This position offers the opportunity to lead the design and execution of a variety of commercial, residential, mixed-use, industrial, and municipal land development projects from concept through construction.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, enjoys working directly with clients, and is looking to take on increasing project management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage land development projects from planning through construction.
- Prepare and review civil engineering plans, reports, calculations, and specifications.
- Design grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution, sanitary sewer, paving, and utility systems.
- Coordinate permitting efforts with local municipalities and regulatory agencies.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
- Develop project schedules and monitor budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, planners, surveyors, contractors, and public agencies.
- Mentor EITs and junior engineers.
- Attend client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Support business development efforts through client interaction and proposal preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5+ years of civil engineering experience.
- Strong background in land development design.
- Experience with municipal permitting processes in the Houston area.
- Proficiency with:
- Civil 3D
- AutoCAD
- Hydraflow
- HEC-HMS
- HEC-RAS (preferred)
- StormCAD or similar drainage software
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
