Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. In this vital role, you will support dentists by performing advanced chairside procedures, assisting with patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional dental services, improve patient experiences, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists with advanced procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow during treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout all procedures.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage medical documentation by accurately updating electronic medical records.
- Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort during procedures; assist with medical coding and documentation as needed.
- Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization, handling of medical records, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry practices and pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety; certification in X-ray techniques required.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental assistants, hygienists, and reception staff.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
