Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure all surfaces are hygienic and organized
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas to support smooth food service operations
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large cookware and dish racks with proper technique to prevent injury
- Support food preparation activities by ensuring all kitchenware is ready for cooking and serving needs
- Follow food safety management protocols to uphold sanitation standards across all kitchen areas
- Contribute to overall cleaning efforts in the kitchen, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal
Skills
- Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is preferred, especially with food handling and food safety procedures
- Knowledge of dishwashing techniques and food safety sanitizing procedures
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Familiarity with food service operations such as bussing, serving, catering, and banquet setups
- Basic knife skills for assisting with light food prep when needed
- Strong understanding of food safety management practices within a commercial kitchen setting
- Excellent cleaning skills with attention to detail in maintaining hygiene standards in a busy environment
