The Steel Sales Fabrication Estimator is responsible jobs that involve processing and fabrication through the shop. The position works closely with the sales staff and the Fabrication Coordinator to estimate, design, & process steel parts specific to application. The position will also assist in quoting and processing orders with the office and to the customer.
Experience with mining equipment & components, different grades of high strength & wear steels, and strong customer service are important factors for this job. Many jobs require working with the end user or contractor to safely and efficiently create accurate steel fabricated parts. We work with many OEM companies to supply OEM steel parts for their components and often work to improve them.
The applicant must be able to use cad software proficiently to create and reverse engineer parts for many applications. 3D modeling experience is also preferred with the ability to unfold metal parts and configure bending blanks for the press brakes.
- Cad drafting experience is important and heavily used for this position.
- Experience with plasma & oxy cutting tables will be very helpful. Parts nesting software is essential for being able to create cutting codes for steel parts creation.
- Knowledge of common ways to cold form steel is preferred.
General Computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office, and ERP software will be needed.
