The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is seeking an IT Systems Developer to join our team. This position will be supporting the Department for Children and Families (DCF) and the Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) within the Agency of Human Services (AHS).
Responsibilities:
- Consult with users to identify current operating procedures, clarify program objectives and elicit business requirements to effectively design solutions that meet their needs
- Systems analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of new or existing software applications and related duties as required
- Provide system support and maintenance
- Cross-team collaboration with technical and non-technical partners
- Follow established processes and procedures
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of software development platforms, computer programming languages, software frameworks, and design patterns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working as part of a team
- Ability to learn quickly and is self-motivated
- Ability to multi-task and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to prepare clean and concise technical documentation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
This position is based out of Waterbury, Vermont with some remote work available (currently up to 2 days per week).
A fingerprint-supported background check may be required based on the assigned job duties and location.
As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 22 will be $26.50 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $41.37 per hour.
