Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex projects, including structural frameworks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse job sites and manufacturing environments, ensuring safety and precision at every step.
Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and welding to join metal parts according to specifications.
- Read plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and pipe threading equipment to prepare materials for welding and assembly.
- Maintain safety regulations by practicing proper power tool safety, wearing protective gear, and adhering to OSHA guidelines during all operations.
- Conduct soldering and assembly of metal parts for maintenance or construction projects on-site or in manufacturing facilities.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication and installation of piping systems.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting welds using calipers, schematics, and visual assessments to meet industry standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding within construction or manufacturing environments with a focus on pipe fitting, sprinkler systems, or HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, and welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings related to piping and structural projects.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire protection systems and ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels and pipelines.
- Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, tube bending, rigging practices, and power tool operation.
- Hands-on experience with construction site activities including pipe installation, maintenance work, or manufacturing processes.
- Ability to use calipers, schematics, hand tools, power tools safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of safety regulations applicable to welding operations on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
