Summary:
Utilizes advanced technical skills to fabricate, assemble, and repair metallic and nonmetallic parts and assemblies for operational aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricates, assembles, and repairs detail parts, subassemblies, and assemblies for operational aircraft, applying moderate to complex techniques and judgment.
- Executes routine and non-routine tasks in fabrication and assembly by following established methods and work instructions, marking dimensions, and routing, sawing, drilling, and adding value to parts.
- Operates hand and power tools, such as routers, drills, and grinders, to meet part specifications, performing trimming, grinding, deburring, beveling, and polishing.
- Assembles parts into subassemblies and complete assemblies, applying fasteners, adhesives, and performing installations according to blueprints, ensuring conformance to specifications.
- Operates production equipment like presses, shears, drills, and mills to fabricate parts and components for production.
Performs additional duties as assigned, which may include cross-departmental tasks.
Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in fabrication and assembly of metallic and non-metallic parts for operational aircraft.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production plans.
- Ability to complete specialized certifications as required for the role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work more than 8 hours per day and 5 days a week, as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Supervision:
- Works under general supervision, with tasks reviewed for completion against quality and schedule requirements.
