At Engelman’s Bakery, we take pride in crafting delicious, high-quality baked goods that bring joy to our community. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Worker to help us maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment. This is a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and food safety.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize all bakery equipment, surfaces, floors, and tools according to company procedures and food safety standards.
- Remove trash and recycling, ensuring proper disposal and maintaining a clean environment.
- Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and correctly.
- Assist with pest control measures as needed.
- Maintain accurate cleaning logs and checklists.
- Support the production team by ensuring the work environment is safe and hygienic.
- Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food production sanitation or janitorial work preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be physically capable of rapid movement to all areas of the plant
- Must be able to climb stairs and fixed portable ladders
- Ability to crawl under and climb onto machinery and equipment
- Willingness to work in a warm/cold and sometimes noisy environment.
- Basic understanding of sanitation practices and food safety (training provided).
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Schedule:
- Combination of days Monday-Sunday with 2 days off during the week unless overtime is required.
- 8-hour shifts except for Saturdays when the bakery is down then it can be up to a 12-hour shift.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
