The Staffing & Training Manager plays a key role in maintaining appropriate staffing levels and ensuring all training and orientation standards are met. They should ensure all employees are trained to company standards and that all new hire documentation is submitted accurately and promptly.
Job Duties:
- A Staffing and Training manager should expect to work between 45–60-hour weeks consisting of rotating open/mid/closing shifts.
- Handling both FOH IFront of House) and BOH (Back of House) daily duties including but not limited to: server/bar/host checkouts, table touches, line checks, and proper cash/safe handling procedures. Represents YRC in handling guest complaints, arbitrary disputes, and solving grievances.
- Supervision and implementation of pre-orientation, new hire paperwork, office organization/administration; maintaining terminated and active employee files, I-9 verification, and Alcohol Awareness binders; and ensuring all employees have completed all tests and requirements before graduating the training program.
- Works closely with co-managers to coordinate effective training schedules for new employees.
- Ensures all YRC policies are adhered to and rectifies infractions by addressing them immediately, productively and respectfully.
- Documents disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Effectively tracks applications for all positions as needed and schedules first interviews with qualified candidates across all departments.
- Monitors and tracks all new-hire training progress.
- Performs additional reasonable requests or responsibilities by the General Manager, District Manager & Director of Operations.
- Adhere to uniform, grooming, and appearance standards consistently.
- Greet all guests, employees, managers, and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
- Perform additional reasonable responsibilities or requests from General and District Managers or Operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- One year of restaurant experience required
- Some management/supervision/ experience preferred
- Some training/ administration experience preferred
- Professional communication skills required.
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and work calmly, positively, and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand basic written directions
- Basic computer skills
Working Conditions:
- Primarily works in an indoor setting and frequently uses a computer.
- Work schedule may vary, including evenings, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs.
- Frequently exposed to heat and cold from mechanical equipment while performing job duties.
- The work environment typically has moderate to loud noise levels and involves working near moving or mechanical parts.
- May work near toxic or caustic chemicals and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
- Ability to speak and hear clearly.
- Visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Constant standing with some walking.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to and possibly exceeding 8 hours).
- Capability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- High mental and visual focus required for planning and executing complex workflow sequences.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
