American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR (Cardiovascular OR) position in Asheville, NC, requiring at least 2 years of experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Located in a hospital setting within a dedicated Cardiovascular OR unit
-
CV PreOp unit with 4 beds and a 1:1 patient ratio

Staffing support includes CNCs, unit secretary, and management shared with the CVOR
-
High-acuity cardiovascular and pre-operative patient population
-
Procedures include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, assistance with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement, patient transport to OR, and assistance with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
-
Equipment used includes GE Carescape monitoring and Fuji ultrasound

Documentation system: Cerner

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (10-hour shifts)

May be required to stay late 1–2 times per week

Floating within scope of practice and experience is required

13-week contract

Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR or cardiovascular surgery RN experience required

Critical care experience is required; PreOp experience is a plus
-
Proficiency with BCMA and strong documentation skills required

Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Strong interdepartmental communication skills required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

Responsibilities include pre-operative patient care, procedural assistance, and coordination with the interdepartmental surgical team
