Get paid to become a certified educator. No classroom experience required.
You'll work one-on-one with students who have learning differences and exceptional needs, building the individualized instruction around what each student actually needs, session by session. You'll be coached from day one by educational therapists, BCBAs, and credentialed teachers, and we pay for your RBT certification in full.
This is a mentored fellowship, not a standard part-time job. Seats are limited, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and we close intake once the cohort is full.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Deliver individualized one-on-one instruction to students with learning differences and special needs
- Carry out behavior and skill-building plans, tracking student progress each session
- Meet weekly with your mentor — an educational therapist or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) — for coaching, feedback, and RBT coursework support
WHAT YOU GET
- Certification, fully funded. We cover your full RBT credential — $800+ in coursework, plus exam and background check fees. It's yours to keep.
- Paid from day one. $26/hr for teaching hours, $20/hr for training hours. Every hour is paid.
- Real mentors. A small peer cohort, coached directly by educational therapists, BCBAs, and credentialed teachers.
- A real next step. The hands-on experience district paraeducator roles look for, plus a path toward our Behavior Specialist role.
WHO THIS IS FOR
- You genuinely want to work with students who have exceptional needs — mission fit matters more than your résumé
- You can reliably commute in person to Santa Monica or Hawthorne
- You can work at least 3 of 5 weekly shifts through the school year (more availability is a plus)
- Recent grads, career-changers, and students in psychology, education, child development, social work, ABA, or special education are all encouraged to apply. No direct experience required.
SCHEDULE & COMMITMENT
Shifts run Monday–Thursday, 3:30–6:30 PM, and Saturday, 9:30 AM–12:30 PM — five 3-hour shifts available per week. Fellows commit to at least 3 of 5 shifts (9+ teaching hrs/week), plus roughly 1–2 hrs/week of RBT training over six months (40 hours total). That's about 10–18 hrs/week combined. Additional hours may be available. Exact schedules are confirmed during onboarding.
Fellows sign a Fellowship Commitment Agreement covering a full school-year commitment with agreed weekly availability.
