American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN cross-trained in psychiatric and main ED care for a night shift assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license.

, psED, short term acute care, Level III trauma center

Treats all medical and multiple psychiatric diagnoses across all patient ages
-
Primarily scheduled in the psych area with floating to the main ED based on volume or department needs

Shift is 3x12 nights (1900-0730)

required to work every other weekend

Epic EMR used
-
Patient ratio typically 1:5-6
-
>Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)

Community hospital experience required
-
Level II trauma experience preferred
-
Cross-training in both ED psych and main ED nursing required
-
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (MAB preferred)

Epic charting experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

1 professional reference required for consideration

Provide emergency nursing care to both psychiatric and general ED patients

Manage behavioral health conditions including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior

Perform triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring as needed
-
Scrub color required: royal blue

Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted

COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemptions

Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved

Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the hospital site
