Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our advanced medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients’ internal anatomy, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical imaging techniques, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles, ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties
- Prepare patients for CT procedures by explaining the process, positioning them accurately, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate CT scanners with precision, adhering to established protocols and aseptic techniques to produce clear, diagnostic-quality images.
- Assist in performing specialized imaging procedures including PET scans, DEXA scans, mammography, and sonography when required.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to evaluate images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols throughout all procedures.
- Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record system and ensure proper image storage.
- Monitor patient vital signs during procedures involving contrast agents or sedation, responding promptly to any adverse reactions.
- Support emergency room and Level I trauma center operations by providing rapid imaging services for urgent cases.
- Stay current with advances in diagnostic radiology techniques, including nuclear medicine and physiology knowledge applications.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for use at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CT scanners in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably within a Level I trauma center or similar high-acuity environment.
- Hands-on experience with nuclear medicine procedures, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, and ultrasound (sonography).
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Prior exposure to emergency medicine environments such as urgent care or emergency rooms with Level II trauma center experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control standards essential for safe practice.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic radiology principles including X-ray technology and image quality optimization.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
