Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team and support full-cycle recruiting for critical roles across Penguin Solutions. This role will focus on sourcing, attracting, assessing, and closing talent for AI infrastructure, technical, engineering, and sales roles that support our growth as The AI Factory Platform Company. The Sr. Recruiter will partner closely with hiring managers, HR, and business leaders to understand workforce needs, develop targeted sourcing strategies, and deliver a high-quality candidate and hiring manager experience. The ideal candidate brings strong experience recruiting in competitive technical markets, including AI/ML, HPC, cloud, infrastructure, software, hardware, data, and technical sales talent, along with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and use data to improve recruiting outcomes.
Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned requisitions, including intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate assessment, offer recommendations, approvals, and offer negotiation.
Partner with hiring managers and HR leaders to define role requirements, candidate profiles, hiring plans, interview processes, and timelines aligned to business needs.
Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies for scarce technical talent, including AI/ML, HPC, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, software, systems, hardware, and related technical skill sets.
Recruit for a cross-functional set of roles, to include sales and go-to-market roles, software and hardware engineering, AI and data engineering, shared services and/or interns.
Attend local career fairs and support internship activities.
Build and maintain strategic talent pipelines for critical roles and capabilities, using market mapping, competitive research, referrals, LinkedIn, job boards, events, and other sourcing channels.
Advise hiring managers on recruiting best practices, market conditions, candidate availability, compensation considerations, and effective closing strategies.
Facilitate a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process through timely communication, clear expectations, and professional representation of Penguin Solutions.
Partner cross-functionally with HR, Total Rewards, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders to support approvals, offer development, and compliance with company processes.
Maintain accurate requisition, candidate, interview, and offer data in the applicant tracking system and ensure consistent process execution.
Track and communicate recruiting metrics, pipeline health, risks, and progress to stakeholders; use data to identify opportunities to improve speed, quality, and candidate experience.
Support employer branding and talent attraction efforts for AI, technical, and sales talent in partnership with Marketing, Communications, and Talent Acquisition leadership.
Exercise discretion with sensitive information and diplomacy in nuanced hiring situations.
Collaborate with the broader Talent Acquisition team, flexing to changing business priorities and supporting continuous improvement of recruiting processes, tools, and practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of talent acquisition or recruiting experience, preferably in a corporate recruiting environment supporting technology, engineering, infrastructure, or high-growth business functions.
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting for technical roles such as AI/ML, software engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, HPC, systems engineering, hardware engineering, product engineering, or related technical functions.
Demonstrated experience recruiting for sales or go-to-market roles, including enterprise account executives, sales leaders, solutions architects, technical sales, or business development roles.
Strong sourcing skills with experience identifying and engaging passive candidates in competitive and specialized talent markets.
Ability to partner consultatively with hiring managers and business leaders, influence without formal authority, and provide market insight to support hiring decisions.
Experience creating sourcing strategies, talent pipelines, and candidate target lists based on business priorities and role requirements.
Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting processes, including requisition intake, resume review, candidate screening, interview management, selection alignment, approvals, and offer negotiation.
Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems and recruiting tools; SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters or similar ATS experience a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to represent the company professionally to candidates and stakeholders.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to use recruiting data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
Ability to work collaboratively across HR, business functions, and global teams while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.
Preferred: Experience using AI-enabled tools or automation to improve sourcing efficiency, candidate screening, pipeline visibility, or recruiting operations, such as Copilot, Claude, or recruiting-specific tools.
Location
This is a hybrid position in Durham, NC.
Travel
Travel is not typically required; occasional travel may be requested for team meetings, business meetings, or recruiting events.
Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in North Carolina is $115,000 - $125,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
