American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA license, 2 years of ED experience, and Epic proficiency.

Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with 392 staffed beds
-
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Floating between like units required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Facility may call off shifts once per two-week pay period
-
Any scrub color permitted
-
Active CA RN license required (must be in hand, not pending)
-
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (MAB preferred)
-
Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
-
Experience with interpretation of ABGs, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line management
-
Experience managing continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
-
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience
-
Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
-
ICP monitoring experience preferred
-
2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

LA fire card completed within the last 30 days required
-
Provide emergency nursing care across a variety of acute and critical patient presentations
-
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local

Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Travelers must be willing to float between facilities within the state as needed

Must disclose any license or background check issues at time of consideration

Must indicate any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
-
RTO requests should be minimal and submitted at time of consideration to avoid delays
