Job Overview
The Optometric Technician supports eye care providers by assisting with patient examinations, performing preliminary testing, and ensuring a high-quality patient experience. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations and assisting the doctor when needed
- Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories
- Perform preliminary eye testing, including: visual acuity testing, autorefraction, tonometry, visual field testing, Optos imaging and OCT imaging
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the provider
- Accurately document findings in the electronical medical record
- Perform telephone triage for patients
- Maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stacking of supplies
- Provide compassionate, professional care to patients of all ages
- Assist with patient flow to minimize wait times
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a clinical setting
- Computer skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
This position requires working 4 days per week, plus 1 Saturday per month.

Monday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Wednesday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
