Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment for treatment.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, medical history documentation, and explaining procedures to patients.
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments and tools.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures.
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with 3D scanners, medical imaging equipment, and digital radiography is desirable.
