Kangaroo Care is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a 5-year-old in Troutdale looking for help Monday-Friday. Approximately 27 hours for the summer and 22 hours during the school year. Schedule is relatively flexible.
He is athletic, highly verbal, curious, and very active, with interests in outdoor play, running, exercise, art, and social interaction. He requires full 1:1 support and consistent hands-on engagement throughout the day, including structured physical activity, sensory support, and creative interaction, as traditional toys are not typically of interest. They are looking for a DSP who is patient, calm, flexible, and comfortable supporting a high-energy child with autism and behavioral needs, or someone willing to learn and grow in the role. This is a very active and engaging position that can be highly rewarding for the right person.

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
- Assist with dressing, grooming
- Assist in daily living activities and needs
- Participate in life enriching activities
- A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
- Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
