Reproductive Partners Medical Group (RPMG) is seeking a detail-oriented Lab Tech to join our laboratory team in Beverly Hills, CA. This position supports the daily operations of the IVF laboratory by performing laboratory procedures, maintaining quality standards, and assisting with reproductive laboratory processes under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory procedures including oocyte identification during egg retrievals and sperm preparation for ICSI and conventional insemination procedures.
- Perform embryo cryopreservation and thawing procedures for frozen embryo transfers (FET).
- Assist with embryo transfer procedures.
- Assist physicians and laboratory staff during egg retrievals and micromanipulation procedures.
- Prepare laboratory media and materials for IVF procedures.
- Perform sperm cryopreservation and sperm preparation for intrauterine insemination (IUI).
- Perform and document quality control procedures, equipment checks, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies, sterile instruments, culture media, cryostorage materials, and other laboratory disposables.
- Follow established laboratory protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely laboratory documentation and patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Communicate unusual findings, equipment concerns, or procedural issues to the Laboratory Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, laboratory staff, and other team members to provide exceptional patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of laboratory experience, preferably in reproductive medicine, IVF, andrology, or a related clinical laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality control practices and laboratory safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform precise laboratory procedures.
- Ability to use laboratory equipment and computer systems for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to safely work with laboratory equipment, cryogenic materials, human tissue specimens, and other biological materials.
