American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a Medical-Surgical unit at an acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY LPN license and Epic experience for a night shift contract.

Work in a complex care Med-Surg unit serving medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients at a 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

13-week contract
-
Patient ratio of 1:5–6, with LPN working under RN support
-
Charting via Epic (experience required)
-
Skills include blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and IV start/maintenance
-
Respiratory skills include high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and trach care/management
-
Additional skills include feeding tube care/management, heparin protocols, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), and telemetry unit monitoring
-
Experience with rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, MS/tele, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drains required
-
Every other weekend required

Every other holiday coverage required, as needed
-
Floating within skillset to other units may be required
-
Active New York single-state LPN license required at start of assignment (NY is not a Compact state)

Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required
-
Acute care experience within the last 2 years required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
-
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
-
License required if applicable

LPN works with their own patient assignment under RN support

This is a Magnet-recognized facility affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
