Job Overview
We’re looking for a Director of Human Resources to lead the people strategy for a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is a key partner to Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance—helping build a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace. You’ll drive hiring and retention, develop leaders, strengthen workforce planning, and scale HR programs that support production goals and an excellent employee experience across shifts.
What You’ll DoStrategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with plant/operations goals (productivity, safety, engagement, retention)
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational design, change management, and workforce risk
- Build HR dashboards and report key metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, attendance, training completion, engagement, incidents, overtime)
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Lead employee relations investigations and resolutions (attendance, conduct, harassment, policy violations) with fair, consistent documentation
- Coach leaders on performance management, corrective action, and consistent policy application across shifts
- Build a culture of accountability, coaching, and clear expectations through goal setting and development plans
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Oversee the hourly and salaried recruiting strategy in partnership with the in-house Recruiter, including sourcing, selection, interviewing, offers, and onboarding.
- Build partnerships with staffing agencies, local schools, workforce boards, and community organizations
- Improve onboarding and retention programs
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
- Oversee compensation practices (hourly wage bands, shift differentials, incentives) and maintain internal equity and competitiveness
- Manage benefits administration and annual open enrollment; partner with vendors and ensure employees are well informed
- Ensure accurate HRIS data, payroll coordination, and audit-ready records
Compliance, Policies & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (wage/hour, leave laws, I-9/E-Verify, etc.)
- Maintain and update employee handbook, HR policies, and SOPs; train leaders on adoption
- Partner with EHS/Operations to support safety culture, training requirements, and incident follow-up
Learning, Development & Culture
- Build training programs for supervisors and managers (frontline leadership, conflict resolution, coaching, interviewing, documentation)
- Partner with Operations on training matrices, skills progression, cross-training, and succession planning
- Lead engagement and recognition initiatives and improve communication across shifts
What We’re Looking For (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in a manufacturing/plant/warehouse environment
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, wage/hour compliance, and high-volume hourly hiring
- Proven success improving retention, attendance culture, and frontline leadership capability
- Experience implementing HR processes at scale (HRIS, onboarding, performance management, training systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)
- Experience supporting multi-shift and/or multi-site operations
- Familiarity with Lean/Continuous Improvement cultures and metrics-driven manufacturing environments
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Pay: $150,000.00 per year
