A3Global is seeking a motivated Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience to join our growing legal team in San Francisco. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to gain substantial courtroom exposure, direct client interaction, and hands-on experience handling civil litigation matters from inception through trial.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced litigators while taking on increasing responsibility for case management and litigation strategy. Our practice represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil disputes, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft complaints, answers, motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda using Westlaw, Lexis, or similar research platforms.
- Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery.
- Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
- Attend hearings, case management conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
- Evaluate liability, damages, defenses, and settlement opportunities.
- Develop litigation strategies designed to achieve favorable client outcomes.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with litigation deadlines.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys while independently managing assigned matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 1–3 years of experience practicing civil litigation.
- 3-5+ of experience practicing for senior civil litigation.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and case management abilities.
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to quality legal work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling depositions, court appearances, mediations, or arbitration matters.
- Familiarity with employment, business, construction, real estate, insurance, or personal injury litigation.
- Trial preparation experience is a plus.
- Desire to grow into a well-rounded civil litigator with increased case responsibility.
