Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety guidelines.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive medical documentation and medical coding processes.
- Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and answering patient inquiries professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following dental instrument processing protocols and ensuring all dental instruments are properly sterilized and stored.
Qualifications
- Minimum of ONE year of experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft; familiarity with medical documentation and records management.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and dental sterilization procedures.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Experience assisting with various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, implants, and general dentistry procedures.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
