Human Resources Assistant
Location: Mt. Vernon, NY 10550
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
Pay Frequency: Weekly
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Mt. Vernon, NY. The Human Resources Assistant will play a key role in supporting daily HR operations, maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment activities, and providing exceptional administrative support to the Human Resources department.
The ideal Human Resources Assistant is organized, dependable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion while working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, and new hire paperwork
- Maintain and update employee files and HR records
- Support recruiting efforts by scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
- Assist with timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll-related documentation
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Process employment verifications and other HR-related requests
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Perform data entry, filing, and general administrative duties
- Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Human Resources Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or similar office support role preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
