About the Role
Primepick is seeking a Head of Field Service to build, manage, and scale our field service and aftersales operations.
You will be responsible for keeping deployed machines operational after installation, coordinating service requests, managing field technicians, resolving technical escalations, and establishing clear service standards across the machine network.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will manage people and processes while also visiting machine locations when deeper technical troubleshooting, commissioning, training, inspections, or quality control are required.
The position is primarily based in our New York office, with regular travel to machine locations.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting at the base location and across field locations
- Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Repair and reassemble mechanical assemblies, replace faulty components
- Work with mechatronic components (actuators, motion systems, sensors)
- Test key subsystems including cooling, heating, and sensing
- Deploy control software updates and verify system behavior after changes
- Ensure machines are fully operational after service interventions
- Monitor system status and proactively identify potential issues
- Maintain service records and update task status in the company’s service management system
- Collaborate with the engineering team to report issues and propose improvements
Requirements
Must-have:
- Experience working with PLC-based industrial control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical / mechatronic systems
- Basic understanding of control logic and signal flow
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with tools and mechanical assembly
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to work independently in the field
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with mechatronic systems or manipulators
- Experience with servo systems or motion components
- Experience with refrigeration or food equipment
- Experience with IoT devices or connected systems
- Experience with testing or deployments

Compensation
$75,000 – $110,000 per year (depending on experience)
