Compensation
Overview
TekBank Consultants Inc. is seeking motivated and dependable SCADA Operators to support computerized safety systems within a railroad operations environment. This role is responsible for monitoring, operating, and controlling critical safety systems during both normal and emergency operating conditions.
The selected candidate will monitor control room systems, respond to alarms, support operational maintenance activities, and ensure systems continue operating safely and efficiently. After completing training, the individual will independently manage operational responsibilities during assigned shifts.
This role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm during critical operational events.
Responsibilities
- Monitor operating equipment through:
- Control room instrumentation
- Computer systems
- Alarms
- System readouts
- Maintain safe and efficient operation of computerized safety systems
- Implement required system operating modes and protocols
- Respond to alarms and perform corrective operational actions
- Perform system startup and shutdown procedures
- Support field maintenance operations through system coordination activities
- Review operational logs, technical manuals, and plant procedures
- Ensure operational readings and control room logs are properly documented
- Communicate operational status updates to safety and operations personnel
- Submit shift reports and operational documentation
- Make operational adjustments to maintain continuous and safe system performance
- Support emergency response operations when required
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Qualifications
- Strong reading comprehension skills for technical operational procedures
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and make sound operational decisions
- Ability to prioritize and manage critical events in emergency situations
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently after training
Minimum 2 years of:
- Electrical experience
- Mechanical experience
- Or equivalent technical school training
Ability to pass:
- Background screening
- Security clearance
- Random drug testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous railroad operations experience
- Experience working with:
- SCADA systems
- Mechanical equipment
- Electrical operating systems
- Control room operations
Work Schedule Requirements
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift or night shift assignments
- Weekend availability required
- Full-time schedule in a 24x7x365 operational environment
