Position Summary
DMS Group is the authorized representative for LifeSource Water Systems throughout the Northeast. As demand continues to grow through direct LifeSource leads, radio advertising, television advertising, and other marketing channels, DMS is creating a new role to manage the full customer experience from initial inquiry through complete installation.
The Water Treatment Sales & Project Coordinator will be responsible for responding to incoming leads, meeting with potential customers, assessing customer needs, preparing proposals, closing sales, and coordinating successful installations. This position will work closely with DMS field labor, LifeSource-approved installers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal management to ensure each project is completed professionally, profitably, and in a way that reflects the DMS and LifeSource brands.
This is a customer-facing role requiring a combination of plumbing knowledge, sales ability, project management skills, and subcontractor coordination experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Response and Customer Engagement
- Respond promptly to all incoming water treatment leads, including leads from LifeSource, radio advertising, television advertising, website inquiries, referrals, and direct customer calls.
- Qualify potential customers by understanding their water treatment needs, property conditions, location, timeline, and budget.
- Schedule and conduct customer meetings, site visits, consultations, and follow-up calls.
- Represent DMS and LifeSource Water Systems in a professional, knowledgeable, and customer-focused manner.
- Educate customers on LifeSource Water System products, benefits, installation requirements, and long-term value.
Sales and Proposal Preparation
- Develop accurate proposals based on customer needs, site conditions, product requirements, installation scope, and labor/subcontractor considerations.
- Prepare and present pricing, scope of work, installation expectations, and project timelines to customers.
- Follow up on open proposals to answer questions, overcome objections, and close sales.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, customer communications, proposal status, and sales activity.
- Coordinate with Tom Anderson and other DMS leadership as needed on pricing, unusual applications, or complex installations.
Installation Coordination
- Once a sale is made, coordinate the installation process from handoff through completion.
- Determine whether the installation will be performed by DMS labor or by an approved LifeSource trusted installer/subcontractor.
- Schedule labor, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and customer installation dates.
- Communicate project scope, site requirements, customer expectations, and schedule details to installers and internal teams.
- Manage subcontractor relationships to ensure quality, timeliness, safety, and professionalism.
- Monitor project progress and resolve issues related to scheduling, materials, installation conditions, or customer concerns.
- Confirm project completion and customer satisfaction.
Project Management and Administration
- Track each sold project from proposal through installation and closeout.
- Coordinate permits, documentation, product orders, installation notes, and internal paperwork as required.
- Communicate clearly with customers before, during, and after installation.
- Maintain organized records of project status, subcontractor assignments, costs, and completion details.
- Assist in developing repeatable processes for lead management, proposal preparation, installation coordination, and customer follow-up.
- Provide regular updates to the Water Treatment Manager on lead volume, sales activity, proposal status, installation schedule, and project issues.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in plumbing, mechanical systems, water treatment, or a related trade.
- Prior sales experience, preferably in residential, light commercial, plumbing, mechanical, water treatment, HVAC, or construction-related services.
- Ability to meet with customers, explain technical information clearly, and build trust.
- Experience coordinating labor, subcontractors, installers, or field crews.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prepare proposals, manage follow-up, and coordinate multiple active opportunities at one time.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Professional appearance and customer-facing demeanor.
- Ability to work independently while keeping management informed.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned Northeast territory as needed.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
