Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Support clients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Gait Belt; assist with manual handling tasks safely.
- Prepare meals aligned with dietary needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being; engage clients in social activities when appropriate.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient progress, and any incidents; update care plans regularly.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Support clients during medical appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with individuals with dementia, or Alzheimer’s.
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques.
- Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for residents with complex needs such as Alzheimer's disease or intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to perform lifting safely using proper patient transfer methods; manual handling skills required.
- Communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate personal care assistance tailored to each individual’s needs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed; reliable transportation preferred.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
