Kent State University’s Trumbull Campus is seeking a part-time Veterinarian or Biology Adjunct Instructor for the Veterinary Technology Program

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
BSCI 10005 Small Animal Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians
Identification of anatomy and basic physiological functions of domestic small animals: skeletal, muscles, integumentary, special sense organs, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, nerves, circulatory and immune.
The course will consist of both lectures and laboratories. Laboratories will consist of instructive learning, demonstrations, discussions, laboratory assignments, and dissection of preserved animal cadavers.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After successful completion of the course the student should:
Understand the clinically important anatomy and physiology of cats and dogs.
Know the anatomic and physiologic similarities and differences of cats and dogs.
Understand the application of veterinary anatomy and physiology to veterinary technology and veterinary medicine
Recognize disease manifestations based on anatomic and physiologic abnormalities
Recognize and identify important clinically relevant anatomic landmarks
Apply the information learned to a career in veterinary medicine

Must have a Master’s degree in a related field OR DVM

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
Working Schedule:
Tuesdays 9:30 -12 pm Lecture
1-4 pm Laboratory
