Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, offering product demos and upselling when appropriate to enhance their experience
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-merchandised to attract customers
- Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging sales and customer satisfaction
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Assist with inventory management by stocking new products and conducting regular stock checks
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays that highlight promotions and new arrivals
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store setting
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience or ability to assist in team coordination and training
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and customer service best practices
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage positively with customers and team members
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in sales, stock management, and customer interactions
