Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and energetic Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will support our operational efficiency and help maintain our reputation for reliability.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management using software such as QuickBooks.
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks and ensure accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Reconcile balance sheets and perform account analysis to verify financial accuracy
- Handle bank reconciliations and ensure proper account reconciliation procedures are followed
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, including data entry and double-entry bookkeeping
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and assist with tax preparation by ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards
- Support internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist with audit preparations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role with a strong understanding of corporate accounting practices
- Extensive knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation
- Proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or equivalent systems
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex and timekeeping platforms such as Kronos or UltiPro
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis
- Ability to perform data entry accurately at a high volume with 10 key typing skills
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting is a plus
- Excellent math skills combined with a solid understanding of financial services concepts
