The Animal Resources Manager will work out of our DAVIS CA location which is home to all but one of our Life Sciences subsidiary companies. The successful candidate will have solid hands-on experience caring for, handling, and administering injections and blood draws for both large and small animals. We work with a variety of species including: mice, rabbits, chickens, goats, and alpacas primarily for antibody development but also for pre-clinical work. In addition to having a strong foundation in procedural work with lab animals, it is essential that the candidate also be able to provide leadership to the Lab Animal Group managing projects, overseeing staff and their training, and generally ensuring that the Lab Animal Department is efficiently run. This position is customer-facing so timely and effective communication with customers is also critical.

Essential Functions include:
· Managing projects and working collaboratively with other departments to ensure successful project completion
· Supervising two lab animal technicians and two husbandry technicians to ensure project and daily tasks are completed
· Communicating with clients to plan projects, keep them informed of progress, and coordinate billing and project deliverables
· Overseeing the care and health of all animals in collaboration with our attending veterinarian
· Serving as the IACUC Chairperson and organizing IACUC activities.
· Hosting USDA and supplier audits as needed.
· Drafting and updating standard operating procedures
Work Environment:
This job involves contact with a variety of different animal species in addition to office-based work.
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs if needed
· Assist with immobilization of small and large animals as needed
· Sitting/standing at computer as needed
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried position at 40 hours per week
Preferred Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in related industry setting
· Experience working with both small and large animals, preferably in a lab animal environment
· Experienced and adept at managing and motivating others within a workplace setting
