We are currently seeking a kitchen team member to join our dynamic coffee shop/cafe environment. While experience is preferred, it is not required for this position. However, you must possess some kitchen skills and kitchen sense. The ideal candidate will be available to have organizational skills and preferably have worked in a kitchen before. You will be responsible for food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, and performing limited inventory. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure, and a passion for delivering high-quality service. Hours are 35 to 40 hours a week. The days are: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, from 6 am to 2 pm or 9 am to 3 pm. The rate averages out to $17 to $21 an hour with tips. Looking for someone to start right away.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation by following recipes and instructions from the kitchen staff.
- Perform food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients using proper knife skills.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all food served.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Support the cooking staff by providing assistance as needed in various kitchen operations.
- Participate in inventory management by helping to stock supplies and report any shortages.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation.
