The Position
This position functions as a Journeyman Electrician for A&E, installing power distribution and electrical systems for commercial and industrial projects in and around our Hempstead, TX location while maintaining compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes along with all A&E policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test electrical systems for commercial and industrial projects — from raceway and conduit (EMT, GRC, FMC) through wire pull, terminations, and dielectric testing
- Read and execute work from electrical drawings, panel schedules, and specifications
- Install and wire gear, switchgear, panelboards, and motor control equipment
- Work safely in Class I Division 2 and other hazardous/industrial environments as assigned
- Keep schedule and quality on track through clear communication with foremen and crew, and full compliance with A&E safety policy
Qualifications
- Current Texas State Journeyman Electrician License (required), with solid working knowledge of NEC code
- Hands-on experience installing and verifying power distribution, lighting, and related systems in commercial/industrial settings
- Reliable transportation to the Hempstead, TX job site
- Clean safety record, able to pass a background check and drug screen
Skills & Qualities
- Sharp troubleshooting instincts backed by sound electrical judgment in the field
- Equally comfortable working solo on a task or pulling weight as part of a crew
- Dependable and punctual, with the discipline to keep pace on a tight schedule
- Detail-oriented on terminations and testing, with safety always front of mind
- Open to mentoring apprentices and helpers coming up through the trade

Field Conditions & Requirements
- Comfortable on ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, and reach booms — climbing, balancing, and working at height without hesitation
- Capable of standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, and reaching overhead repetitively through the shift, including lifting and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Full use of hands, arms, and fingers for handling cable, wire, and tools in tight or awkward positions
- Able to work outdoors in all weather, and in noisy, cramped, or dirty conditions typical of an active job site
- Comfortable with on-site hazards including electrical shock risk
- Standard 40-hour week, with overtime, nights, or weekends possible as projects demand
