Part-Time Direct Support Professional / Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Position Summary
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assist individuals with daily living skills, community involvement, personal care needs, and social development while promoting independence and dignity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide care, support, and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist individuals in achieving greater independence and reaching personal goals.
- Participate in planning, implementing, and documenting services.
- Provide personal care assistance as needed.
- Observe and report health, safety, behavioral, or environmental concerns.
- Complete incident reports and required documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain professional communication with individuals, families, and coworkers.
- Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- Provide training and support to help individuals maintain existing skills, learn new skills, improve social skills, and achieve goals outlined in their service plans.
- Transport individuals to community activities, appointments, and events as needed.
- Comply with all Green Oaks Center, state, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current automobile insurance.
- Ability to obtain and provide a 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the Georgia Department of Driver Services.
- Must successfully pass:
- Criminal background check and fingerprint screening
- Pre-employment drug screening
- TB test (required prior to hire and annually thereafter)
Preferred
- One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities, patients, or in a related human services field.
- Experience in a caregiving, healthcare, or direct support role.
Training
No prior certification is required. Green Oaks Center provides on-the-job training, including opportunities to obtain Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification.
