General Description:
Under the direction of the Lead ReStore Driver, the ReStore Associate/Driver is an agency Problem Solver. Broadly speaking he or she has responsibility for the daily transportation of materials from donors to the ReStores.
Problem Solvers are the foundation of the agency. They efficiently handle a multitude of critical and required tasks that support the function of the Agency Team and our various programs. Problem Solvers are . They do not look to their supervisor to come up with solutions. They ensure that important details do not slip through the cracks, are incredibly well organized, make the agency look professional and facilitate excellent audits, among many other things. Problem Solvers look to AI to create efficiency and excellence!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities…
He or she must:
- Good knowledge of the safe handling and transport of materials
- Provide donors with proper customer service
- Ability to direct volunteers and community service workers
- Ability to drive a box-truck and operate lift gate safely
- Prioritize and schedule donation pick-ups (requires computer literacy)
- Ability to physically lift materials weighing up to 75 lbs
Job Conditions…
Position is full-time (40 hours a week) work Tuesday through Saturday. Evening and weekend work is required.
It is a non-exempt position. Conditions and benefits are contained in the board approved .

General Responsibilities…
1. Provide calm, confident, and positive to the entire organization.

5. Ensure that your area, office, building, vehicle, trailer, etc., is clean, organized, safe, and compliant.
6. Comply with grant requirements accordingly.
7. Crosstrain with fellow staff to ensure a steady flow of business despite absences.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Discuss and form plans of action regarding large scale donations or deconstruction projects to ensure safety and efficiency with the Lead ReStore Driver.
2. Negotiate with vendors concerning large scale donations – arrange transport for said donations to ensure timely delivery.
3. Coordinate the pickup of donations with donors and attempt to handle complaints, disputes, and resolve grievances with an unhappy donor. The person in this position is the first person responsible to attempt to resolve these situations. Any complaints need to be brought to the attention of the Lead ReStore Driver.
4. Ensure that ReStore vehicles/trailers are properly maintained and safe to operate by performing a daily checklist. In addition, coordinate with the Lead ReStore Driver to have any necessary repairs made to ReStore vehicles/trailers.
5. Oversee the pickup and delivery of all used materials ensuring that we do not accept donations of hazardous materials.
6. Utilize our “Vonigo” online donation system as required.
7. Help out at the ReStore with whatever is needed when there are no pickups to go after.
8. Turn in all donation receipts to the Lead ReStore Driver daily.
9. Keep track of all gas receipts, notate and turn into the Lead ReStore Driver.
10. Execute the transfer of Purchased Materials between ReStore locations as needed. This must be done without disrupting the normal flow of donation pick-ups.

3. Availity to work on Saturdays and evenings as necessary.

5. Valid Texas driver's license, insurance and an operational vehicle.
6. Undertake other duties as assigned.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
