About Us:
Rheumatology of Central Indiana (ROCI) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated Billing Specialist to join our administrative team in Muncie, IN. In this in-office role you will serve as a primary backup for Anthem insurance claims. This is an in-office position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and enjoys working as part of a professional healthcare team.
Summary of job Duties:
Under the supervision of the billing supervisor responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Working with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies
- May handle tasks related to insurance verification, prior authorizations, and patient communication regarding billing issues
- Monitoring account balances
- Requesting and verifying prior authorization information
- Educating patients on billing concerns
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed
Responsibilities:
- Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with current payer-specific requirements
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and timely
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable and support the revenue cycle
- Investigate and resolve claim denials or rejections
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards

Preferred Minimum Experience:
- Must have experience working with Anthem insurance claims.
- High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of insurance claim follow up experience; OR associate's degree in medical/billing certification and two (2) years of medical bill coding/follow up experience.
