Position Objective – Irrigation Manager: The primary role of the Irrigation Manager will be to start, grow and maintain an irrigation and lighting division focusing on commercial projects while maintaining our core values and adhering to our mission statement.
The responsibilities of the Irrigation Manager are:
1.
Manage irrigation crews, including scheduling, teaching, and disciplining crew members.
2.
Ensure that projects are scheduled per the direction of the project owner or general contractor
3.
Order materials as needed thru our procurement manager and team, ensuring that the right materials are on the jobsites when we need them and protected from theft and vandalism.
4.
Work closely with the General Manager of the commercial division to keep projects on track, and coordinate plant and tree installations at the right times to protect themliving items and also keep the projects on schedule.
5.
Be involved in the interview and hiring process, making every effort possible to hire right and build the team for success.
6.
Keep the project schedules in both Aspire and on sharepoint updated and accurate at all times.
7.
Make irrigation service calls as required and requested by our customers including retail, commercial and internal jobs. Service calls executed properly will result in estimates and invoices prepared and submitted properly and timely. It will result in accurate inventory, timely calls, communication to the customer and team members about the status of the jobs.
8.
To complete the irrigation and lighting work as required and troubleshoot problems. At times, this position will also be responsible for selling, managing and installing all types of landscape projects.

Managing a crew of various sizes to complete jobs and projects in a timely and profitable manner. Sometimes the crew will be one, at other times it could be 10 or more people, depending on the size and scope of the project. Flexibility, patience and training will be key skills to be successful.

To maintain accurate inventory of products.

To maintain equipment and company assets, including repairs and regular maintenance, ensuring our assets are in the field operating safely and as intended to get the job done.

To maintain a strong relationship with our vendors.
13.
To sell new jobs and prepare estimates.
14.
Effectively communicate with management, team members and leaders to assess and analyze this part of our business for current and future needs. This includes, but is not limited to, showing the patience and aptitude to teach and train others to help build the team. The manager is expected to be an expert, and someone who can show others the way to strengthen the team.
15.
To show proficiency in company technology systems, including but not limited to, Aspire, Office 365, CounterPoint and other tools necessary to be successful at the job.
16.
The Irrigation Manager is expected to have a valid driver’s license for the type of truck and trailer they will be operating on a regular basis and an ability to handle the physical demands of daily landscape installation.

There are not many emergencies in this business so many situations need to be dealt with reasonably until they can be discussed with ownership and a permanent solution can be established. Most important, if you’re not sure ask and never be afraid to tell the customer you don’t know.

Adhere to strict confidentiality of company financial figures, including our cost, profit margins and gross sales. Violation of this policy is subject to immediate termination.

Hour Expectations- This is a salaried position and is expected to work 45-50 hours per week. There will certainly be some exceptions, and the schedule will be managed by the General Manager of the commercial division. Most weeks will be Monday-Friday.
