Across both campuses, our specialized programs include six child and adolescent inpatient units and two day hospitals, all dedicated to delivering exceptional care to younger populations. For adults experiencing acute mental health conditions, our Adult Service Line features twelve inpatient units - including Crisis Stabilization, General Adult, and Young Adult units. We also have three adult day hospitals tailored to support transitional care.
Schedule commitment:
- Weekend frequency: Required to cover 36 weekends annually.
- Weekend shift hours: Coverage begins Friday evening at 5:00 PM and concludes Monday morning at 8:00 AM.
- Holiday requirement: Coverage is required for 2 holidays annually.
What to expect:
The Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct psychiatric care through evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including prescribing and managing medications. Patients are treated within the hospital setting, where the nurse practitioner conducts admission assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides both individual and group therapies. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the nurse practitioner plays a critical role in supporting stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Complete psychiatric evaluations, admission physicals, and diagnostic assessments.
- Initiate and coordinate individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Prescribe and manage medications, ordering tests and adjusting treatment as needed.
- Provide individual and group therapy to support patient progress.
- Monitor patient outcomes, document care accurately, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence in care.
- Serve as a mentor to junior staff, modeling best practices and supporting professional growth.

What we need from you:
Active Maryland Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
Maryland Controlled Substances Registration with valid DEA Certificate.
Minimum three years of experience preferred, including training and practical experience in an acute psychiatric setting.
The pay range for this position is $85,000 minimum to $100,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
