Job Summary
The Mobile Outreach Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant will be responsible for drawing blood, collecting lab specimens, performing general clerical duties as needed, inventorying phlebotomy supplies, and other duties assigned, within the community, at health screenings and health fairs.
Essential Functions

Performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.

Performs phlebotomy and medical assistant responsibilities of this position, in the mobile setting, according to hospital and department policy and procedure.

Maintains a positive relationship with customers and develops a positive perception of Pomerene Hospital and our outreach services.

Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures and discharge instructions, when applicable.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma/GED- Required.

Phlebotomist: PBT (ASCP) or Equivalent- Preferred.

Medical Assistant: Registered and/or certification in medical assisting - Preferred.

1-3 Years of Experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Nurse in a Healthcare/Medical Setting- Preferred.

BLS Certification- Required (May be completed during orientation period).

This position requires six to eight weeks of on-the-job training (orientation period).
