Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Dance Instructor and Choreographer to inspire students of all ages through the art of dance and creative movement. Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, integrating elements of ballet, theater dance, and creative movement.
- Teach visual and performing arts classes with a focus on dancing, choreography, and stage presence, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible.
- Develop original choreography for performances, recitals, or community events that showcase students’ talents and progress.
- Manage classroom environments effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a safe space for learning.
- Plan lessons that incorporate music, theater experience, childhood development principles, and creative arts instruction to enhance student engagement.
- Work with children, youth programs participants, or adult learners to foster their artistic growth through personalized feedback and encouragement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development projects such as photography, sewing for costume design, or culinary activities related to performance arts when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching arts or dance classes with a strong background in choreography and classroom management.
- Expertise in ballet, theater arts, or other dance styles; additional skills in sewing or photography are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, youth programs participants, or adult learners across diverse settings including early childhood education or preschool environments.
- Strong lesson planning skills combined with knowledge of childhood development and behavior management techniques.
- Experience in curriculum development for creative arts instruction and working with students of varying ages and abilities.
- Familiarity with special education needs or working within inclusive classroom environments is desirable.
- Passion for inspiring creativity through dance while maintaining a professional approach to teaching visual & performing arts.
