POSITION SUMMARY: The Employment Specialist is responsible for providing Participants with on-the-job training in order to improve job knowledge and skills. They assist Participants with maintaining employment and establishing independence at the job site. The Employment Specialist may need to address the issues of transportation, hygiene/grooming, and social/communication skills, interactions with co-workers. Employment Specialist completes appropriate reports and performs various job duties as assigned by Step By Step management.

POSITIONS ARE COMMUNITY BASED IN THE CUYAHOGA, LORAIN AND ERIE COUNTY AREAS. WE ARE SEEKING STAFF IN ALL AREAS. TRAVEL TO OUR OFFICE IN VERMILION, OHIO IS MINIMAL.
Qualifications:
- A sincere desire to enhance the lives of Ohioans with Disabilities; adherence to all internal policies and procedures and the requirements of funding/referral sources and other external stakeholders; and an ongoing commitment to meet the stakeholder expectations of providing ethical, efficient and effective, high quality services.
- High school diploma or GED required, with 2 years related management or vocational rehabilitation experience and/or 2 years post-secondary education, preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver License with full automobile insurance coverage.
- Must agree to criminal background checks, abuser registry checks, motor vehicle reports, employment reference checks, academic credential verification and automobile insurance verification, post-employment as needed or requested by management, on an initial and ongoing basis.
- Applicant must possess and furnish valid personal identification documents, and have lawful work status, per US Department of Homeland Security, Citizenship and Immigration Services requirements (I9 form) at the point of job offer.
- MUST HAVE COMPUTER, INTERNET ACCESS, CELL PHONE, BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF MS EXCEL AND WORD, FAMILIARITY WITH MS TEAMS, ZOOM.
- MUST HAVE RELIABLE AND INSURED PERSONAL VEHICLE (this position cannot accommodate bus riders).
