Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in various medical settings. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is positive and efficient. Your expertise will shine as you assist with clinical tasks, manage patient records, and support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care.
What you’ll do
- Perform patient intake, including gathering medical histories and vital signs to ensure accurate health assessments.
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, and medication administration to enhance patient outcomes.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Provide administrative support by scheduling appointments, processing insurance information, and handling medical terminology with precision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and assist in emergency situations within the clinic or hospital environment.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to educate patients about their health conditions and treatment plans effectively.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding, and EHR systems to facilitate efficient operations.
- Strong understanding of patient service principles and commitment to providing compassionate care.
- Experience working in diverse medical environments such as internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous roles involving outpatient services or medical-surgical settings will be beneficial.
