Position Title: Quality Control Inspector
Reporting Relationship:
Quality Control Supervisor
Position Purpose
The primary functions of a Quality Control Inspector is to perform inspection and testing of raw materials, In-Process and Final products for Injection Molded plastic parts and assemblies.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Interpret quality plans and inspect as directed.
- Inspection by measuring dimensions, such as length, height, and distance, between reference points, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and CMM, to ensure product meets specifications.
- Perform Start-up approval, In-Process and Final inspections.
- Be able to accurately document and record Inspection results.
- Perform Functional testing using various equipment (Force gauge, torque tester, and other miscellaneous instruments).
- Perform incoming inspections on raw materials.
- Work with close tolerance parts.
- Be able to identify Non-Conformances and generate Reject forms.
- Lead quarantine activities when Non-Conformance product/material is identified.
- Communicate with Quality supervisor/manager, shift supervisor, and company managers when non-conforming processes and/or product are identified.
- Follows ISO quality management system guidelines.
- Carries out all job duties, maintaining safe work habits and GMP guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Control Supervisor and or Quality Assurance Manager.
- Resolve suspect/nonconforming product problems.
Qualifications
Required Education/certification:
- 2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2- 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector.
Required Experience:
- Understands general Plastic part drawings and tolerances.
- Knowledge in use of measuring instruments: Caliper, micrometer, and drop gauges. OGP SmartScope Vision System, is a plus
- ISO experience preferred.
- IQMS experience preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Basic Math & Geometry/Trigonometry.

Physical Requirements:
- Involves sitting, standing and/or walking, with frequent ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound perceiving their nature.
- Ability to extend hands or arms in any direction. Repetitive motions, physical ability to sustain movements of the fingers, wrists, hands or arms.
- Hearing, ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
- Ability to express or exchange information by means of spoken word.
- Must able to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity) and see colors.
- Must be able to maneuver safely around moving equipment and/or in congested manufacturing areas.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves/boots, etc.
- Exposed to various packaging materials, raw ingredients, cleaning chemicals, lubricants, etc.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
